About Maru Labs

Maru Labs is now my private technology and open-source project. It started with electronics for classic BMW K-series motorcycles. Today it also covers software, embedded systems, Linux, maker projects and everything that connects mechanics, electronics and computing.

Many projects start for a simple reason: I need something, cannot find a solution I like, so I build it myself. If the result can help others too, I document it and publish it openly whenever possible.

Maru – mechanical engineering, computing & open source

I studied mechanical engineering and computing and I am especially interested in projects where these worlds meet. Designing and printing an enclosure, developing and assembling a PCB, writing firmware and finally making everything work reliably together – that is exactly what makes these projects interesting to me.

I am active at Hackerspace ODW and publish some of my projects on GitHub, including Nasu for Pebble, 3ventz.ch and other open-source work.
