BEP3.0 FROM OUR PARTNERS

The BEP3.0 is still available through our partners. Maru Labs is a part-time project and I only build small quantities, so I can no longer handle shipping individual orders myself. Please order the BEP3.0 directly from one of the following retailers:

Ideas become projects

Maru Labs is my small development and project workshop in Switzerland. This is where I build things I would like to have myself – from electronics for classic BMW motorcycles to open-source hardware, software and slightly crazy side projects.

Hardware, software, mechanics

Good projects rarely stay within one discipline. At Maru Labs I design, program, solder, mill, print and experiment. The technology itself is not the point – what matters is that it works in the end.

The Bastelrümli

The Bastelrümli is workshop, lab and playground in one. Prototypes are built here, faults are hunted down and ideas are tested even when they may look a little crazy on paper. Those are often the ideas that become the most interesting projects.

Workshop, think tank and playground

The Bastelrümli is where ideas turn into real things. CAD, electronics, 3D printing, CNC, soldering and software all come together here. A lot of it starts with simple curiosity – try, fail, improve and eventually realise: now it actually works. I publish many of my projects, source code and repositories on GitHub so others can understand, use or develop them further.

Maru Labs is now a private technology and open-source project. It started with electronics for classic BMW K-series motorcycles and over the years has grown into many different projects involving hardware, mechanics and software.

I am especially interested in how these worlds interact. A housing is designed and printed, a PCB is developed and assembled, the firmware is written, and in the end everything has to work reliably together. Those interfaces are where the most interesting projects happen for me.

Maru Labs is deliberately kept small. It is not about mass production, but about turning ideas into reality, understanding how things work and developing solutions that do not yet exist. If something useful to others comes out of it, even better.
